Learn to Quilt - Three Rails

Start quilting! You'll learn rotary cutting, accurate piecing and all the assembly and finishing techniques you need to leave class with a completed lap quilt! New session begins January 11.

Cost: $ 75.00
This class differs from 101 in that it is smaller in size and has fewer designs, but will give enough variety to learn how to use Westalee templates. There will be simple pre-class instructions. Students will bring a whole cloth sampler sandwiched with marked and stitched grid lines ready to quilt. We will be using six different templates, 5 from the Westalee sampler set and the arc that you received with your Westalee ruler foot. Students can expect to finish their mini sampler by the end of class.

Serging 101 - Class FULL

Please join our wait list. Take your serger out of the closet and come to class to learn how to operate your machine. In class we will create a book of all the many samples you will make with your serger. Learn to put a rolled hem on the edge of a scarf or make simple napkins. Put a ribbed collar on a neckline, apply elastic to the waist of pants. You will sew on knits with great ease. There are many stitch possibilities and applications. You will accomplish all stitches and become very familiar with your serger!

Introduction to Paper Piecing

Wooly Wonder Tote Bag

Aloha Tote "Plus"

Simple tote from Pink Sand Beach acts as a canvas for template quilting designs! Come to class with the bag front and back pieced and layered on fleece, and we will Template Quilt the panels, using some rulers from the Westalee Starter Set, and introduce Circles on Quilts "Baptist Fan" Templates. You will make a central flower, and expand your use of templates, learning to echo, make circles and background fills. Then the tote will be completed with useful inside pockets, optional feet and a magnetic clasp closure!

Class Info & Policies

A 15% discount will be given for all supplies purchased for your class.
We hate to cancel a class, but reserve the right to do so, should the minimum enrollment not be met (usually 3 students). If this happens, a full refund will be given.
If you're not able to make a class that you've registered for, you must notify us one week prior to the class at which time a store credit will be issued.
If we have less than 1 week notice, a credit will be given only if the slot can be filled from the waiting list.

Skill Levels:
Beginner – No quilting or sewing experience required. Suitable for the first time quilters or those who desire a review of basic quilting skills.
Advanced Beginner – Student has some experience with rotary cutting and general sewing skills. Pre-class work such as cutting may be required.
Intermediate – Student is comfortable with rotary cutting skills and achieving a ¼" seam allowance.
Advanced – Student has experience in rotary cutting, machine piecing, appliqué, machine quilting, and more difficult piecing techniques.
When you take a class at Sew Inspired, we'll give you the basic concepts and all the technique instructions for the project. In many cases, you will not be able to finish the entire project during the class time(s). You will however, have plenty of time to learn how to make the block, or use the techniques taught, to confidently finish your project at home.
