EQ6 For Beginners (Sandy) EQ6 is the gold standard for computerized quilt design for home users. This two part course begins with the basics and takes participants through the process of using Electric Quilt version 6 (EQ6) to design or layout quilts. In part I participants are introduced to the easy to use interface the building blocks of quilt layout. Sandy will show you how to choose from the over 4,000 block patterns, over 5,000 fabrics, and unlimited layout options to help you preview your own unique designs. She'll also show you how to use EQ6 to resize your favorite blocks and quilts and print easy to use Rotary Cutting or Paper Piecing designs. Homework includes laying out 3 different simple quilts.
In Part II, Sandy begins with review and feedback on your homework projects. Part II then moves into how to load EQ6 with images of your own fabric stash and expanding your quilt, border, and sashing layout options. An introduction to EQ6 advanced features including custom design of blocks and appliqué motifs is also covered.
Laptop and EQ6 recommended – alternatively you may rent studio PC time to complete your homework assignment. Participants are offered 10% off the retail price of EQ6 when purchased for this class.

Learn to Quilt - Beginner (Lois) This special beginner class, developed by a seasoned quilt-shop owner, is designed so you complete a quilt! Color Mastery (Heidi) All Levels. Develop your personal color style by learning the 3 elements of color, the relationships of color on the color wheel and how they affect your fabric choices and resulting quilts. The first principle of the ten outlined in Color Mastery is to create your own color journal. In the first class, Heidi will show you what kind of journal works best, how to get started, and lead you through fun, innovative exercises to help you discover or refine your own color style.
