Getting Started – Long Arm 101 – Beginner (Owners & Non-owners are welcome) Participants will walk through phases of machine quilting including – Planning, Preparation, Loading, Stabilizing, Quilting, Turning and Finishing. Discussion of tools, threads, batting and machine set-up is featured. Instruction on background fills, pantograph technique and basic free motion quilting is also included.

Quilting Basics – Long-Arm 102 – Beginner This class focuses on basic quilting on a Mid- or Long-Arm machine. Participants will learn more advanced background fills, basic quilting shapes, and basic stitch-in-the-ditch techniques. Beginning free-motion block work is also included.

Quilting Borders & Sashings on a Mid/Long-Arm Machine – Confident Beginner/Intermediate Learn techniques for free-motion, pantograph, and spaced borders. Learn dozens of free-motion sashing patterns as well as techniques for stabilizing, marking and turning quilts for complex borders.

Block Building on a Mid/Long-Arm Machine – Intermediate Learn techniques for planning, marking, and quilting plain and pieced blocks. Features free- motion, laser- guided, marked and other precision techniques. Quilting appliqués blocks including echo quilting is discussed and demonstrated.

Interpretive Quilting & Feathers & Ferns on a Mid/Long-Arm Machine – Advanced Interpretive quilting involves drawing on the quilter’s vision, fabric & pattern clues, and the long-arm quilters artistic skill to design and quilt patterns that unify the quilt. Various interpretive quilts will be discussed. Also features an introduction to feathers and ferns, free-motion, Victorian, and feathered wreaths, Using feathers and ferns as background fills to enhance block patterns is also covered.
