"To Market, To Market..."

...to buy a fat quarter.  Well, more than just a fat quarter!

Viv and Heidi are back from Spring Market, and they had a blast (I mean, really, who wouldn't?).  They've come back bursting at their seams with new ideas for classes, events, and chock full of new patterns, fabric, notions, and tons of other stuff.

Their "Market Review" will be the June 12 Saturday Sampler event. But, if you want to be in the know, stay tuned to this here blog and to the Sew Inspired website to see all the new fabric, classes, etc, that will be coming your way throughout the spring and fall!

Look out - here comes EQ7!

All you techie types, get ready - Electric Quilt 7 is coming!  We at Sew Inspired are very excited about this!  There are some really cool features in this new version.  Viv's favorite is the new Photo Patchwork function.  This allows you to import a photo into the program, pixilate it, and use the image to create a photo-patchwork quilt.  Other cool upgrades include drag and drop blocks, 480 new block designs, 5,000 new scanned fabrics, and many, many more.  You can check out the "top ten" list of new features , and a complete list .

Electric Quilt is running a special  pre-release pricing offer we are really excited about.  If you call or stop by the shop before May 31, you can reserve your fully copy of EQ7 for $142 (savings of $47.95), or the upgrade version for $58 (savings of $31.98).  Reserved copies require prepayment.  To use the upgrade version, you need to already have a copy of EQ6; unfortunately older versions of EQ (version 5 or lower) are not compatible with the upgrade software.  The software will begin shipping in early June.

In addition, keep an eye out for more details regarding a demo session of the new software.  Also coming this summer is an "Electric Quilt 7 101" class taught by our in-house tech guru, Sandy.  This is a great class for learning the software from scratch as well as picking up some new tricks and tidbits that comes with the upgrade!

Nancy Halvorsen has Landed!

I know - it's crazy right?  It's barely May and we're getting Christmas fabric in already!  But believe you me, it's true.  The entire Nancy Halvorsen 2010 Christmas line "Good Tiding of Great Joy" was delivered to the shop late last week, and it's as wonderful as we could have hoped it would be.  Here, take a look for yourself:

Oh Baby!

We have a growing selection of baby and juvenile fabrics and new kits for new arrivals.  Come check out the cutest kids' fabric in the land!

First up in the batting order is "Simple Pleasures" by Henry Glass.  This line has sweet pastel greens, blues, and yellows, and comes with a panel and coordinating fabrics.  We don't have kits cut for this yet (we will though, so be patient!), but we do have all the fabrics for the pattern, available here

Batting second is "High, Low, Fast, Slow". which is my favorite.  This is an "opposites attract" kind of quilt, with high and low making friends with clean and dirty along with full and empty.  Kits are cut and available.

And, to continue the baseball theme (sorry folks - baseball season is well under way), batting clean up is "Special Delivery" by Andover.  Now, I may be dating myself here, but this fabric brings back memories of the mad rush my mother was forced to make when my older sister INSISTED that she get a Cabbage Patch Kid for Christmas one year.  The line is very sweet a stork delivery newborn babies.  This panel would be even more special if there was a set of twins coming into the world.  Kits are being cut soon, but if you can't wait, the pattern is available here.
