Pretty, Pretty Penguin

Remember that cute fabric line? Well here's the follow-up. Need we say more? Move over Hungry Caterpillar... Oh, speaking of the caterpillar, we have a huge shipment due shortly and a wait list of folks who are making the Fons & Porter featured quilt or the quilt Andover designed. Not on the list? Call us. Then, we'll call you the day it arrives. As far as the Penguin goes, we're told he's "on the water" which means the fabric is on the boat so it's 6-8 weeks away. Trust us, it's worth the wait.

More Tonga Dimes

This is the new quilt kit for the second group of Tonga batiks from Timeless Tresures. Our first group, which made the Jungle Fever kit, was such a hit and we liked this collection just as much. Debbie won the "sample lottery" with this quilt and she's begun stitching with our pre-shipped sample kit from Timeless. These are 30 of the almost 100 batiks we have coming in the next few months. We do love our batiks!

More Batiks!

You've seen the ads for the new, green Tonga batiks from Timeless Treasures. And soon you'll be able to see the fabric (and quilt!) at Sew Inspired. This group is one of several new batik collections due in the shop in late June. Deb R. has graciously agreed to make this sample - you know how much she loves curved piecing and this quilt is right up her alley!

Vacation!

Joseph's Coat

...or, what I did on my April vacation!

I know, it's been a month since I've had a chance to update all that has been going on. But, I actually had a chance to take some time off after spending a day buying fabric at a regional fabric show and several days at the Machine Quilter's Expo in New Hampshire. So what did I do on my April vacation? Well, I made the coat for Granby Memorial High's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in May. Recognize the Sherrill Kahn fabric?! And, I helped to fill a 30-yard dumpster as we worked to convert our basement to a studio for me and Gab. Yes, she will take half of the 500 square feet for her painting and collage and I'll take the other half for quilting. Here's a before picture. Hopefully the after is soon!
