Sew Inspired Studio!

Well, March certainly came in like a lion! Though it's hard to imagine spring is right around the corner with a few fresh inches of snow on the ground, we're getting ready for spring in a big way. We welcomed a new owner and partner this week, Sandy, who is bringing a fresh studio concept to our shop. Sew Inspired Studio will be "growing" throughout the spring - first to include custom quilt finishing on Trudy, the Gammill Sandy brings with her. Next, do-it-yourself quilting, and a host of other services. Stay tuned for all of the exciting changes... and come grow with us!

New Paint Sticks 101 added; Hand Quilting re-scheduled

Our paint stick classes are proving to be very popular and as we've filled the intro class in March, we've added another date in May. Check out the "Art of Quilting" on our website.

Due to weather, our hand quilting class scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 13th, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 5. Please check the "Skill Builders" on our website.

Rainbows on Fabric!

Over the Rainbow from Quilting Treasures

Every season, Quilting Treasures will be releasing a series of colorful fabrics to commemorate the movie, culminating in Fall 2009 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. Our first group is here. From Dorothy's dress to her slippers, these are collector's pieces!

Rainbows of Fabric!

Hand-dyed wool bundles from Wild Thymes

We received our first bunch of new wool as promised! We love these bundles from Wild Thymes Pattern Co. We are now carrying hand dyed bundles with 4 - 7x9 pieces and Bundles of Off the Bolt which contain 6 - 10x12 pieces of felted wool in beautiful colors. Our wool by the yard will be in soon.

Coming soon from Hoffman Fabrics...

We love batiks. And these clever new bundles from Hoffman are due in shortly. Each wrap is a cylinder of 40 - 7" squares, two each of 20 colors and are great additions to your stash of batiks.

New Australian Fabrics Arrive!

Aboriginal Art on Fabric!

"Spectacular views and various creatures such can be observed in the Yalke or Wetlands of Australia both in the dry or wet seasons. These are illustrated by June Smith in her new painting, “Yalke”. During the dry season vast water masses revert back to wetlands and waterholes; becoming refuge for waterfowls and many other migratory birds of Australia.

June Smith is known for very neat and well defined composition. She spends most of her time with Karangka Arts which is a well established contemporary Aboriginal artists group in Santa Teressa, Northern Territory."

New Anna Griffin Arrivals

blythe.jpgIt's been another busy week for the UPS folks!

The Blythe group celebrates creativity... Create stunning collages by combining prints of old world maps, pen and ink calligraphy and found French elements. Shown here is the antique bouquet of wild roses on a distressed background.

Anna Griffin's Maime pieces offer tropical, 1950s Floridian flare! And, Charlotte is simply elegant and reminiscent of an English garden with its beautiful climbing roses.
